Travel to STATUE OF UNITY
Statue of unity is simply known as SOU, located in Kevadiya town in Narmada district near to Vadodara in Gujarat. SOU is the colossal of Sardar Vallabhai Patel which is world tallest statue standing a height of 182 meters.
It was initiated in the year 2010 and was completed in 2018 by Larsen & Turbo. The sculpture was designed by Ram Vanji Suthar an Indian sculptor. It was opened by our honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 31st october 2018.
Here, let me take you to the visit of SOU.
The roads were well constructed on the way to SOU, 100 km from vadodara to Narmada river. We were able to see the statue nearly 10 km away from the spot as it is huge.
The parking area is 6 km away from SOU and we need to take bus facility provided by them and there is no other option. Many AC buses (nearly 60) were deployed for this purpose to reduce public rush. They charge Rs.30 for the service.
TIMINGS:
1.Express viewing gallery - An VIP queue.
2. Viewing Gallery
3. Normal Entry
For ticket costs find the below images. We need to spend Rs.30 separately for using bus service and is not included in any of ticket costs. We need to take ticket in the parking area itself. Washrooms are also available near the ticket counter. Only worrying thing is ladies need to stand in queue for sometime to use restrooms. We can buy tickets in online also for that we need to visit this site Click here for website . The ticket timings are in two hour slots starting from 8 am to 10 am and next is from 10 am to 12 pm likewise upto 6 PM. We can choose to our flexibility.
Buses en route to SOU.
Buses will first halt at Statue which is the first spot. Regular checking is made over there before entry. We are not supposed to carry any plastic items as well as snacks like biscuits, chips etc... Plastic water bottles are not allowed to carry inside. Not to worry too much on that as they provide water facilities in many places.
Escalators are available on both sides under the huts one will take us towards the statue (entry) and other side for exit. We can use if needed. While we are nearing, we may find the statue growing bigger and bigger.
After the ticket check in we were permitted inside. Elevators are the only option to reach the chest of the statue. No staircase is available. Some might feel ear blocked as pressure increases while moving top inside elevators.
Now we reach the Panorama view inside the statue. We can enjoy the water flowing from sardar sarovar dam. Unfortunately to the exact match for the nick name of Gujarat as Dry state (No Liquor is allowed) the lands were also very dry you see no water flowing from the dam.
This is the view from Viewing Gallery.
After that we can reach down using the same elevators. It will take you to the Museum & Audio Visual Gallery spot. All these places are well digitalised.
There is one small theater which runs a short video describing the life history of Sardar Patel. Please maintain silence and listen it over them.
A pledge taking board is present where we can enter our names and select any of the pledges shown on the digital board, promising that we follow that. Finally it will display on digital board with your name.
Then we can exit the statue. The bus will next takes you to the Flower Valley and Sarovar Dam. You can't directly go to the parking spot unless you visit the flower valley and Dam, because the buses for parking arena will be found only in the last spot i.e Sarovar Dam.

Here you find many beautiful flowers grown on the yard. Many varieties of plants were planted which are blooming to our eyes. They are well maintained. We can click many pictures over here.
Next bus will take you to the Sarovar Dam spot. After that we may reach the parking area boarding of any of the buses from the Dam spot.
In addition to these one heicopter is used for public usage. It will takes you 10 minutes rides over the statue of unity. Am not sure about the cost for that.
Many people think it's useless thing as government spent huge amount for building this statue. But we need to be proud that it's build by our Indian as well as it holds the record for tallest statue in the world. The government can turn over the invested money in few years as many people from different places are visiting this SOU daily.
Hope, I take you glimpse look around SOU. Go with your families and friends and enjoy the scenario.
Thank You.
Nice...
